Jan. 22-26 Update | Registration, Assembly, February is Busy
Greetings West Dover Families
A couple of things of note this coming week
Kindergarten registration is open. If you know of any families who have kindergarten age children please let them know that registration is open at cbe.ab.ca
Our January Assembly will take place on Thursday, Jan 25 at 145pm in the Gym. All parents and guardians are welcome to attend. Assemblies are meant to be a celebration of learning each month and some positive recognition for children who have been for example, working hard at attending school every day or at leading our cross walk patrols. Assemblies also provide a monthly showcase of some the learning in music class or physical education. Assemblies also provide an opportunity to sing our school song "Becoming great readers and mathematicians, Success in our learning at West Dover School" You might be able to sing along yourself to those words. You might even know the actions.
Coming up the week of Feb 5-9 we have a busy week - with our Grade 3s and 4s participating in a cross country ski program, our kindergarten to grade 2 students participating in snowshoeing, our grade 5s will be participating in Calgary Campus Open Minds school at the Telus Spark Science Center. On thursday of that week we have a whole school field trip to the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra at Jack Singer Concert Hall.
If you are interested in volunteering to help with skiing or snowshoeing please let your child's teacher know. Parents and guardians are very welcome to help us out with these incredible experiences.
Looking forward to another fantastic week of learning
