A couple of important events coming up this week.
On Wed March 13 at 445pm in our Learning Commons, all grade 5 parents are invited to attend an parent information night with a representative from Kamp Kiwanis. Our grade 5 students will be going to Kamp Kiwanis from June 10-12, 2024. This culminating activity is a three day residential camp - meaning kids will be staying overnight at the Kamp Kiwanis program with Mr. Sawatzky and a female staff person. Mr. Allen and Mr. Strum will also be staying over one of the nights. The parent information is a required event by our Safety Services department at the CBE. This meeting provides informed consent for your grade 5 child to attend Kamp Kiwanis in June
Following the Parent information night for outdoor school, School Council will hold its meeting in the learning commons starting at 530pm. At this meeting, Mr. Strum will be sharing some information about a parent survey regarding school programming and fees at our school. This survey will be sent to all parents at our school following this meeting. The survey is part of an annual process of seeking input from our parent community into learning opportunities at West Dover School.
On the horizon, on Thursday Mar 21 from 4-7pm and then on Friday Mar 22, from 8-1130am, we will be hosting our second Parent Teacher Conference event. Ms. Nicholls will be sending around an email containing information about how to sign up for a conference with your child's teacher. Children are welcome to attend Parent Teacher conferences. The focus will be on providing an update to parents on your child's learning at school.
Looking forward to another fantastic week of learning
Roy Strum, Principal
