Parent-Teacher Conferences

This coming week there are a couple of things of note.  First on Thursday, Nov 27 from 4 to 7 pm and then again on Friday, Nov 28 from 8-1130am, we will be hosting Parent Teacher Conferences.  These conferences are meant to provide an opportunity to talk with your child's teacher about their learning,  be able to see samples of products of student learning, and to ask questions that you may have for the teacher.  You should have received an Parent-Teacher conference registration link to indicate when you'd like to visit the school.  A note, our PE, Music teachers as well as myself and the Assistant Principal are also available to meet should you like to have conversation with any of us.

New Staff

Also this week we have a new teacher starting at our school.  Eric Strozyk, will be the grade 3 teacher in room 8/9.  He is filling in for Ms Moir who is away on a leave at present.

Volunteers for Casino

A reminder that our West Dover Parent Association is looking for volunteers for their casino on Dec 5-6, 2025.  The funds from the casino make possible our field trips, whole school special events such as inline skating, and the purchase of learning resources for classrooms.  If you can volunteer, please call the school at 403-777-8260.  We will forward your name and number to Christine Cahoon, the chair of our parent association who will give you a call and sign you up as a casino volunteer.

Great Joy

On a personal note, I'd like to share with you the great privilege I feel in being entrusted to be the Principal of West Dover School.  Every day I arrive at school and get to work with children who love coming to school and who bring so much joy to our building.  It is also a great joy to meet and work alongside parents in creating a school culture where every child learns and every child succeeds.
