Greetings West Dover Families

I’d like to begin by recognizing the West Dover Parent Association for organizing a very successful and fun Family Dance last Friday. It takes a great deal of planning, coordination, and effort to bring together such a positive experience for our school community, and we truly appreciate their hard work.

The West Dover School Council will be holding its monthly meeting on:

Everyone is welcome to attend.

We are pleased to welcome our new Chairperson, Ariana Kippers, who will be leading a conversation around the values and norms of our school community to help ensure our meetings are productive and inclusive.

During the meeting, I will also be sharing information gathered through consultations with the CBE Playground Supervisor and our Facility Team Lead regarding processes and structures related to an eventual plan to replace our school playground. Parent involvement will be an important part of the research and planning phase, and we will be seeking parent participation moving forward. Please watch for upcoming school messages with details on how to get involved.

Whole-School Field Trip – Be Brave Anti-Bullying Game

Ms. Devos, our Assistant Principal, is the lead organizer for our upcoming whole-school field trip to the Be Brave anti-bullying Calgary Hitmen game on:

Tuesday, February 24
Location: Scotiabank Saddledome

Families will receive detailed information from classroom teachers by February 18.

If you have already completed a volunteer clearance to assist with school field trips and would like to volunteer as a class supervisor for the day, please contact the school office and let Ms. Nichols or Ms. Devos know of your interest.
